Just a comment about the confederate flag and the confederate statues topics – I want to compare to the N word. If people are that offended by the statues and symbols of the south and a way of life then why would black people sit there and call each other the N word so freely? That’s a thousand times more offensive. Confederate flags and statues represent so much and barely any of it is bad or oppressive yet the N word only ever had a derogatory meaning yet that’s used and heard all over the place.

The confederate flag and statues topic got me thinking, so here’s a thought that went thru my mind regarding Columbus Day being officially changed to ‘Indigenous People and Native Americans Day’ in some cities—–the (newly) offended people who spearheaded (no pun intended) this change cited Christopher Columbus’ violence and abuse toward the native Americans, and yet, those same Indigenous and Native peoples, were warring, violent, territorial, fighting people, who were just trying to protect their own tribes (gangs?), land, and cattle. wow….really put the spotlight on something so much better huh?
